Hi, I'm new here and need a bit of help. Once the metal detector has gone in the kitty litter, I can't get it out. I've tried using the scythe but he just swipes the air. Am I doing something wrong, or is my computer not working correctly? Thanks
Two things:
1.) Yo, and welcome to the Grim Fadango Network!
2.) Your computer's working fine. Manny swipes his scythe over the kitty litter to try and set off the metal detector. Keep swiping it over different parts of the litter and eventually he'll find it.
if you have manny
at the very end of the metal thing
over the kitty litter,
you will find the destor and pick it up.

Try "picking up" the kitty litter.. I don't think Manny is that delerious in any other part of the game, hehe.
