No, the indestructible glove was just a silly idea that popped up in a childrens' book; it isn't even officially EU, much less canon.
  What Vader's doing here is either lesser Force shield, in which the Force-user creates a shell around themselves to catch incoming matter energy (Jedi Knight calls this "Force Protection"), or absorb/dissipate energy, in which a Force-user can pull energy into themselves and either channel it or release it harmlessly (JK says "Force Absorb"). 
 The WEG RPG only includes absorb/dissipate energy, but personally, I'd go with the Force shield. 
 Absorb/dissipate wouldn't leave the big explosion (a split-second after this frame). It's more effectively used on things like lightning (including Force-lightning), burns, radiation exposure, and even sunburns. 
 Corran used this in I, Jedi to absorb an explosion (and vaporized his clothes
