Since I've given up hope about a second, I wonder if anyone knows if there exists or if there will be, some kind of Grim Fandango fan game?

I think there's going to be a Grim Fandango Half-Life mod, but I don't know a thing about it. You'd better ask James or go here. (http://dod.dotagame.com)
